As you know a few months ago we installed a 10’ x 24’ overhead soft box in our main studio. This was a big undertaking and took a lot of work from a good deal of people. My idea behind the soft box was always to be able to shoot automobile photography. Cars have always been my passion and I want to apply that passion to my photography.
We all love cars, and most of us would be lost without them. Whether they are new or old they all have their own characteristics. Lighting a car though is a skill. To show off their shape, personality and style and create an image that jumps off the page is fantastic. It is something that over the years has always grabbed my attention and it continues to amaze me.I am just starting to experiment with the different ways and styles to light cars and so far the results, and the owners agree, are remarkable. Sadly car season is fast coming to an end. Soon it will be time to pack them all away before the winter flurries start but I am hoping to get a few more in the studio before that happens. When I am done I will show you what I have created. Here are some shots I have done recently. Hope you like them; let me know what you think!
Sweet studio setup. I love the Cutlass shots. The shot of your truck…multiple exposure HDR? Nice result however you did it.
