The Art of Industry, by Tom Bochsler, Burlington, ON
50 years of commercial/industrial photography is chronicled in this 192 page hard covered book, which is a collection of beautiful reproductions in black & white and colour of event and industry photographs.
For many, ‘The Art of Industry‘ will be a walk down memory lane and to others it is a history book. The introduction to the book by Honourable Lincoln M. Alexander best describes the content. “This nostalgic collection should prove to be a useful and enlightening document of how our resources and directions in the past, have shaped the present.”

Very Impressive Tom. You are truly an artist in your field. I definitely want to order a book.
Well done, Tom…I always knew I was using the best when we had you, and your people, do any work for us over the years. Thanks, again.
Congratulations. It must be a proud moment for you. Such a collection must be part of the National Archives because you witnessed the making of Canada in a way. This has to be part of my library. It will remind me of amazing moments as an industrial photographer
Congratulations Tom, the book clearly shows why you have been an industrial photography icon in Canada for decades and your studio is one of the most innovative in North America. Save a copy for me!
I’m so envious the experiences you have had in your life and your ability to capture them in such an amazing way. You are a truly gifted individual. Congratulations are this accomplishment and for sharing this history with us! I will most definitely be ordering myself a copy to help me aspire to be a better photographer.
Congratulations Tom! As my photographic mentor through the years, the influence of your vision, creativity and values have been profound.
As you know we (Westinghouse then Rogers & Scott) preferred to take our own photographs for patent & trademark drawings, except when obviously it was impossible to take photographs – which is when we called on you – and you always delivered exactly what we needed so beautifully.
Great stuff Tom, your photographs opened up another world for me,never having been involved in industry. There is beauty everywhere if you know how to find it and you do.
