After 25 years with the same studio setup, we have made a major change to our configuration thanks to a large renovation project.
As you may know, we have always had two main studio spaces, the large 2,500 square foot space with cove (on the ground floor) and a smaller, more intimate studio on the upper level used primarily for food and small item photography.
The studio that was upstairs has been re-purposed and we have built a beautiful new studio space and client area on the main floor. No more carrying stuff up and down the stairs. The new studio space still offers a great view of the forest ravine from large natural light windows.
The client lounge area, meeting rooms, kitchen, two new studio spaces and the pre-existing large studio spaces are all linked and are far more convenient. See the diagram and photos below to get a better sense of how everything fits together or visit our facility page for larger pictures of the new layout.
Beyond convenience, the fact that everything was renovated from floor to ceiling means that the whole studio is new, bright and spotless. We’ve added all new appliances in the kitchen and new furniture in the client areas.
One of the side benefits of the sparkling modern kitchen and new client area is that these spaces can double as sets for photography and video. We’ve shot some ‘environmental’ portraits and lifestyle photography in the client area and several recipe prep videos in the kitchen.
We would like to thank some of our regular clients and food stylists for the input into the interior design and to Bruce and the gang here who worked so diligently for several weeks to complete the project (while continuing to work on their regular tasks).
If you haven’t been in since the renovations have been completed, please come for a visit. Just give us a call or drop us an email.
