Last weekend was a strange one for me and it took me back to my early years in photography when I would shoot weddings on the weekends. I must say it was both exciting and terrifying at the same time!
My niece was getting married, and she asked me of all the people to shoot her wedding. How can you say no to family!? Well, I was some nervous, it has been 15 years since I shot wedding photography! How was I to remember everything from 15 years ago. Thankfully though, with the love of a digital world I could check things out as I went along.
I’m use to my studio now. Setting up all the lights and the set in the comfort of my own space. At work I am dealing with food and it has no trouble taking direction! This wedding on the other hand was shot mostly with available light, with the occasional fill flash. It was a little more hustle and bustle then what I am now use to and I definitely got my share of sun, but to be honest it was a lot of fun!!
By the end of it all I was really happy with the shots I got. 1,100 shots in one day! Now that is a new record for me. I hope my niece is happy with the outcome it was her special day! Have a look and let me know what you think.
Beautiful John! Don’t be surprised if you get a flood of requests for weddings haha!
Beutiful people and beautiful photographs. Isn’t it amazing how you can blend your skills to suit the occassion.
